This course is for anyone wanting to increase muscle strength, build bone mass and improve balance. The instructor will lead you through easy-to-follow exercises and progressive balance work to increase muscle strength and improve balance.

Are you looking for a light cardio and strength building class that can be done in a chair? This beginner class uses a fun mix of chair exercises and standing exercises using your chair for support, allowing you to work at your own pace. No floor work in this class.
DATE: Mondays. TIME: 10:15 am – 11:15 am
COME AS YOU ARE
Just starting out in fitness? This class is for you! A fun and easy low-impact class incorporating a warmup, a light cardio component and strength training in a supportive atmosphere. Everyone is welcome – whatever your current fitness level!

“Dementia-Friendly Older Adult Group Fitness Instructor”
The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba is seeking a group fitness instructor who is passionate about working with older adults and is responsible for delivering a safe, stigma-free and fun-filled environment. They also accept that participants will arrive with a varying level of ability and mobility.
Currently, we are looking to fill two positions:
- Chalmers Community Centre: 8 Thursdays, January 26 – March 16, 10:30am to 11:30am
- St. James Assiniboia Centennial: 8 Fridays, January 27 – March 17, 1:00-2:00pm
The Minds in Motion exercise program focuses on mindful activity while integrating the following core elements into each 50-minute exercise session:
• Warm-up. Cardiovascular conditioning (seated and/or standing). Cool down. Strength conditioning. Stretch.
Rate of Pay. $40.00 per class
