Minds in Motion – Fitness Leader for Older Adults

The Wellness Institute is looking for an instructor to lead our Minds in Motion program in partnership with The Alzheimer’s Society. Please see job description below.
The Minds in Motion® program combines physical activity, socialization and cognitive stimulation for people living with early-mid stage Alzheimer’s disease, or other dementias, to enjoy with a family member or community care partner. The two-hour weekly program runs for eight weeks and offers a great environment to establish new friendships with others living similar experiences.
The Minds in Motion® program, offered at the Wellness Institute, promotes community inclusion in an inviting safe environment. The first 45-60 minutes of the program is led by a certified physical activity leader, followed by 45-60 minutes of a combined socialization and mental stimulation session.
Program is running Wednesdays from Oct 13-Dec 1, 1:30-3:30 at the Wellness Institute, 1075 Leila.

We are seeking enthusiastic part-time trainers with energetic personalities to join our team! We’re all about making members stronger in 30 minutes, physically and mentally.

DESCRIPTION:
• Explain and demonstrate exercises to provide members with a great workout every time, while motivating them to reach their goals.
• Maintain clean equipment and gym at all times and ensure provincial health restrictions are followed.
• Convert first-time workout prospects into new members.

QUALIFICATIONS & ASSETS:
• Must be available over the weekday lunch hours (Availability for some mornings, afternoon, and weekend shifts a plus, but not main goal)
• Have experience or feel comfortable in leading a group fitness class
• Must love to train and empower others
• Must be approachable and out-going
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
• Live/Work in Downtown Winnipeg is a plus
• Martial Arts experience is a plus
• Experience in fitness, sales, and customer service preferred

Group Fitness Instructor 

The Rady JCC is seeking fitness professionals who are committed to providing an excellent member experience for those utilizing our group fitness amenities.  The Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for designing and delivering group instruction in an engaging manner to Rady JCC members. 

The ideal candidate will bring the following minimum requirements:

  • Current group fitness certifications through the Manitoba Fitness Council or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in teaching group classes  
  • Ability to design, develop, and deliver creative and effective group fitness classes 
  • Excellent member engagement skills and an outgoing, friendly personality
  • Current Standard First Aid with Basic Rescuer CPR Level C

Pre/Postnatal Group Fitness Instructors – Peg Family Fitness

July 2021

Peg Family Fitness (formerly Fit 4 Two Winnipeg East) is looking for instructors to teach Pre/Postnatal Group Fitness Classes. This position is part-time/casual with daytime teaching options and potential evening teaching options. Instructors are needed to teach one or two classes a week and to substitute teach as needed. Applicants must be willing to teach in North Kildonan and surrounding areas. Applicants must be passionate about working with new moms and babies. Preference would be for female instructors who are moms themselves, although others will be considered.
